Standard/Level 1
Our British Academy of Dramatic Combat (BADC) courses are run to the highest standard, delivering results to get you ready for the fight performance industry. Standard is appropriate for anyone who is: new to dramatic combat, refreshing expired training, wanting to gain confidence in performing moments of violence or even training for the Stunt Register or Motion Capture. This course trains you in both basic sword work and unarmed combat.
At Standard, students will undergo a minimum of 40 hours training, focusing on the technical, physical, mental and acting techniques that are required from stage to screen, from motion capture to stunt fighting. The team at True Edge will tailor their teaching to help you on your dramatic combat journey. Everyone is welcome!
The course will focus on:
*Weapons training
*Choreography
*Creating a fight scene with dialogue, bringing together the action with the word in full acting embodiment.
At the end of the week, there is opportunity to be examined by an external BADC examiner, the fee of which is already covered in the course price.
You must achieve a full BADC (or equivalent from another recognised society before moving to Further Weapons)
BADC qualifications are valid for four years
